Description

This “all-business” Hunter model with 6” barrel is your new hunting handgun or back up bear pistol, without putting a hole in your firearms or hunting budget. Built on a fully-machined steel frame and slide, the Girsan MC1911 S Hunter features a long-hole hammer, accessory rail, slide serrations, skeletonized trigger and an extended beavertail with checkering. The rear sight is a fully adjustable EAA “Super Sight.”

The Girsan MC1911 S Hunter in 10mm is beautifully balanced for quick second shot recovery and the trigger pull is smooth and crisp, making this 10mm pleasant to shoot.

Equipped with an extended beavertail and skeletonized hammer, hammer bite should be no issue. Therefore, this results in less injury for your hand and more comfortable shooting. Moreover, fully adjustable sights allow shooters to easily customize their sights to their preferred configurations. Also, an accessory rail is included meaning that you can use addons such as a flashlight or even a laser on this handgun, which is great for hunting in the dark. In addition, nice synthetic grips are included to add extra firmness to your hold on the firearm, but also helps increase accuracy and lower recoil.

RETURN SHIPPING

A) Handguns: If sent via A FFL Dealer, return freight is $20 and shipped via USPS. If not sent via an FFL holder, return freight is $60, shipped via UPS next day air. (This is the law)
B) Long Guns: Return freight is $20, shipped via UPS ground.
C) For the fastest return of your firearm: It is recommended that you include your email and billing address with your firearm when you ship it in for repair. This will help to expedite the return shipping process. If the information is not included along with your firearm, EAA Corp. service department will call to receive payment prior to return shipment.

I agree with those who say that this a great pistol. Fit, finish, and function are all excellent and accuracy is superb. I did paint the sights with optic orange for the rear and optic yellow for the front sight. This has the effect of making the sights easier and faster to align as well as MUCH more visible in low-light conditions. At the range it was very accurate with Buffalo Bore heavy loads as well as FMJ target loads. The ONLY problems that I had were that the trigger is too heavy for my taste and the slide kept locking open at nearly every round when shooting the hottest ammo. I asked a very good gunsmith about it and he suggested that I use a heavier recoil spring (about 20 lbs) when shooting the hot stuff. That makes good sense and I’ll write another review after I have tried that. OMHO this pistol is as good as any and better than some.

ordered one for hunting season, always wanted a 10. Are there mags available for these ? Mec-gar? Would have been great to have two mags, only certain companies do that anymore

This pistol is excellent. The trigger break and reset are superb. I prefer this trigger to my other 1911s including the Ruger and Springfield models that are great firearms by any standards. The sights are high quality. The adjustments are positive, precise, and mine came dead on out of the box. The slide actuates smoothly with no grit and there isn’t a chatter mark or poorly machined millimeter on this gun inside or out. My pistol has just a tick of side to side play between the slide and the frame. While I have reliable 1911s with tighter slide to frame fitment that would be the only comment I could make and it is no way disparaging. NRM Colts and my Springfield have about the same tolerances. This being my first Girsan I didn’t know what to expect. I was thrilled when I got it and looked it over. Like a kid with new toy I wasted no time putting 500 rounds through it of various ammo to include: Blazer (FMJ), PPU(FMJ), and Underwood (155g xtp & 220g hard cast). This gun drove tacks on paper at 40 yards, slapped steel dueling trees and hostage targets around with authority at 15 to 25 yards, and did not have a single malfunction. I’m an avid hunter and cant wait to take some big game with this pistol. If you get a chance to pick one up pull the trigger before some big YouTube gun channel features this pistol and you cant find them anymore.

This is an amazing firearm. fit and finish is excellent. with prices rising it is hard to find a 1911 that wont break the bank. the trigger reset is very smooth. i have fed this gun reloads from HP, hard cast bullets, to Underwood, S&B, Tula it eats everything i throw at it. The slide itself feels like its on roller bearings. Living in Alaska i have always hunted with rifles. this gun will be taking game when the season opens up here.
