First introduced at SHOT Show, the two new additions to the Witness2311 family: the CMX and CMXX compact series. Built around the 4.25” barrel 1911 platform, known as the C or Commander model, these pistols offer an overall length of 8” with a slimmer profile.
While the size makes them ideal for everyday carry, what really sets these new models apart from last year’s versions is the updated grip module and internal safety mechanism.
“Based on the feedback we received, we’re now producing our entire Witness2311 line with the CMX and CMXX aggressive grip texturing instead of the traditional checkering,” said Chase Duffey, Director of Sales at EAA Corp. “And while we’re stepping away from tradition, we also removed the grip safety and replaced it with an Auto Firing Pin-Block safety. That change allowed us to deliver a much slimmer pistol with a smaller magwell. These are exciting improvements that people are going to appreciate the moment they pick one up.”
EAA Corp and Girsan respect what made the original 1911 great while adding the features shooters expect to see in a modern double-stack handgun, all while maintaining compatibility with many 1911 standard parts and magazines.
The CMX & CMXX series come standard with a tuned trigger at 4.5 lbs max, an optic-ready slide cut for the RMSc footprint, and slide serrations with lightening cuts for smoother manipulation.
The CMX keeps things minimal with a bull barrel configuration, offered in 9mm, while the CMXX takes performance a step further by adding an integral compensator to the barrel, offering one of the flattest shooting experiences, competing with models priced up to five times higher.
