Quality feel, finish, and value for a legendary firearm that has been updated and improved over the years of testing and field service, now supplied for the modern day optic user, from the factory as opposed to buying the saddle/mount, a red dot, and suppressor height sights separately, it comes co-witnessed right out of the box. I’m not overly impressed with the supplied red dot, as the windage and elevation screws turn freely without click stops that I prefer, and its an “always on” versus a “shake awake” activation that I also prefer in an optic, but it is easily replaced with another RMSC pattern red or green dot if you prefer without messing up the co-witness. The dot itself is very clear although I had a concern it would be too big, it really is just right, and its easy enough to transition to iron sights if pinpointing a target smaller than the dot which would be rare. The pistol really doesn’t feel that heavy unloaded, the aluminum frame is still very light versus steel, so most of the empty weight is in the business portion of the gun (slide, barrel, rod and springs), although when you add a fully loaded magazine it gets significantly heavier with that many rounds on board. My biggest gripe is EAA’s parts support, all G10 grip panels are endlessly backordered, including the windowed grips and mags, and the threaded barrel is extremely overpriced if even available. I own several Turkish imports, two Girsans, the Regard Gen 3 and a MC28-SAVT, a Canik55 Stingray, Stoeger STR9c, and Tisas PX9 Gen3 Duty and all the cousins are not just solid firearms, but always exceed my expectations in fit, finish and function. I wish I could say the same for other Amercian made products. Just make sure you buy the configuration you want out of the box, so you aren’t counting on picking up upgrade accessories other than spare mags afterwards as they take any m9/92FS compatible mags from Beretta, MecGar, or ETS although their 30 rd mags didn’t give me the Last Round Hold Open when empty.

Anyone concerned about the suppressor style raised front sight causing issues with holsters. I’ve found that my little cheap from Walmart leather paddle holster, clips in the pants and words extremely well with multiple guns. These I’ve used in it: Glock 43x, Taurus 1911, Taurus G2c, and currently use it for my Taurus 605 poly (.357 mag 5shot revolver). Should fit the Girsan Regard or even the 1911 without issue. It’s not the best holster in the world but for $15 you won’t beat it. I’m thinking of buying the Girsan Regard MC Deluxe soon. If so it’ll be going into the leather holster for sure. Don’t want to mess up that beautiful finish. Just waiting for my ship to come in. Got a nice big list for Santa.

  3. Adrian pizana

it’s an amazing piece. love the fact it’s heavy and not that “toyish” feel like the new plastic guns. only thing I wish that would be better (nothing wrong with the gun itself) would be finding a good fitting holster that doesn’t interfere with the raised front sight.

  4. Aidan Wynn

This gun has been an amazing addition to my collection. It’s become my everyday conceal carry. While it’s full sized, it does not feel like a 92FS. This bang for the buck is top notch and I’ll be looking at more Girsan pistols in the future.
